MaleCNS Pong Lab

A connectome-constrained spiking model of the fruit-fly nervous system in a closed-loop Pong environment.

Independent research

Abstract

An independent research platform connecting a simplified Pong environment to a connectome-constrained spiking model of the adult male Drosophila nervous system. The browser combines retinal sampling, sparse neural dynamics, motor-pool activity, and an engineered limb-and-paddle model in an inspectable feedback loop. Experiment controls, anatomical activity views, and reproducible run logs support sensorimotor research. The accompanying manuscript documents the modelling assumptions and a three-seed pilot that demonstrated weight updates without an observed improvement in held-out performance.

Experimental approach

  1. Visual input

Retinal sampling connects the Pong environment to the neural model.

  2. Neural dynamics

Sparse spiking activity is constrained by the adult male Drosophila connectome.

  3. Motor feedback

Motor-pool activity drives an engineered limb-and-paddle model, closing the sensorimotor loop.
